Our Programmes & Activities
The Sarupathar College Library serves as a hub of knowledge and resources for students, faculty, and staff alike. With a collection of over 30,000 books, we offer a diverse range of academic and non-fiction materials to support the learning and research needs of our college. We specialize in providing access to a variety of study materials, including textbooks, reference books, journals, and online databases. Besides this, we hosts following programmes and activites to promote the holistic development of academic community-
- Orientation of New Users: Orientation is given to the newcomers about how to use the library.
- World Book & Copyright Day Celebration: To promote the joy of reading the Library & Information Cell organises story-telling competition among the students on the occasion of World Book day on April 23.
- Librarians' Day Celebration: The library celebrates Dr. S.R.Rangnathan's Anniversary every year on 12th August, and an extempore speech competition is organised among the students. The Central of the college also launched a wall magazine called "Saraswat" for the first time in the year 2024.
- Books Exhibition: The central library organises Book exhibitions on National Library Week from 14 to 20th November.
- Kitap Pohu Aahok (Let's Read Books) Initiative:
- Best Library User Award: The Library declares the Top 3 Best Library Users award to the students who have been using the library regularly and systematically. Every year, three students are selected for this award. The librarian considers the behaviour and punctuality of the students. Since the year 2024, the Best Teacher Library User Award has also been introduced within the academic community.
